Dear Parents,
Welcome back, Welcome back, Welcome back! To
all new parents & guardians joining us we
Welcome You to your first year at
The Gordon Parks School for Inquisitive Minds.
An excellent choice for
your child's education.
On that note, this letter is coming to you for our
2012-2013 Membership Drive. We want to thank those parents & guardians that
gave their support last year. We were able to raise $2050.00. Unfortunately, it
was not nearly enough to subsidize the cost of the wish list of our school with
the programs and educational items they wanted put in place. As you know we
were able to accomplish a lot, however it mostly came from outside resources
and fundraisers.
As we canvassed for money for programs for
our school to our community and district leaders the constant question asked
was, “where are the efforts of the parents?” In the book of excellence, there
is no replacement for effort.
Excellence is the standard we want for our school this year.
Excellence in leadership, administration,
academics, teachers, students and us... the parents. Let our efforts this year
rise above our excuses.
We are asking for $100.00 per family to
support our school and fill the financial gap
that this year’s budget has left. We accomplished many tasks last year but we worked harder...not smarter. All of us do not have the time to sell a fundraiser to family, friends and co-workers every month. Many of us do not even bother. If we contribute $100.00 per family we don’t have to. Music & Art programs along with Technology are crucial to the academic success of our students. The state cut the funding –period.

As parents we have the power to not let the budget affect the programs we
want for our children's enrichment. Many of us would like an after school
program. We need funds to make that happen. When we provide the
resources/solutions for the challenges, the school then can meet the need.
My personal challenge to you is for us
to be a public school,
that is
privately held by the board of parents.
The membership fee is payable in :
· (1) payment of $100.00
· (2) payments of $50.00
· (4) payments of $25.00
last payment due on January 3rd, 2013.
Success
does not come easily. Are you willing to pay the price?
Onward
& Upward,
The PTA Executive Board
Nicole Hammond|1st Vice President & Membership Drive Chairperson
